With the extension of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in communities around the Philippines, the nation continues to struggle against the COVID-19 pandemic. More facilities and equipment must be made available for use by our medical practitioners and other frontline workers to aid their effort in responding to this global crisis.
As an acknowledgement of the nation’s needs, the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, an indoor sporting venue at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila, has been authorized to operate as a quarantine facility. The facility has been accepting COVID-positive patients who are provided beds and cubicles as they are continuously monitored by doctors and other staff.
To provide essential services needed in the facility, CIC has donated 3 units of 10.5kg Top load FA Washing Machines which will be used to wash and replenish the clothes of the doctors and medical staff, as well as the bedding and other equipment used by their patients. CIC has also donated Condura refrigerator and chiller units for the storing of necessary items for the operation of the site as a quarantine facility.
On April 20, Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso announced that the Stadium has sent home its first COVID survivor. This has been a victory, yet the fight of our brave frontliners continues in the face of this global pandemic. We at CIC are grateful for the valiant efforts of the team behind the Ninoy Aquino Stadium Health Facility, who show us that only through collaboration and cooperation can we effectively respond to the needs of our nation.
